when I said I loved this band I wasn’t kidding.
Thanks to the good timing and transportation of Cherub I am providing brew for Margot. And I get a thank you gift.

it’s always a pleasant feeling to be recognized by musicians you admire.

can we just please talk about how much I love this band?
Margot started a campaign 5 hours ago to fund their new album. As of now it’s 94% completed. I paid $100 to get to attend one of their rehearsals and a bunch of other stuff and I cannot wait.
If you’re willing to support the band or just want to see what they’re offering go here.

I saw margot & the nukes (for the 9th time) on March 25 at the firebird in st. louis.
I don’t think I had seen them in stl for about 5 years and it felt weird. good, but weird.
The highlights were:
- the band coming on stage singing friday (you know, rebecca black)
- talking in code
- Richard forgetting the words the Will you love me forever
- a fight almost breaking out in front of me
- a guy pouring pbr all over his face

well, it’s been about a month since I’ve had a Margot related post. It’s about time right?
Tonight was my 8th time seeing some form of this band. Lincoln Hall always seems to be the venue that hosts monumental concerts for me. Let me just say that the set was perfect. I mean really anytime they play “Talking in Code” I’m smitten, but this show was far superior. Richard was really chatty during the set, they played the best old songs (bookworm, skeleton key, broad ripple, childrens crusade), and they played fantastic new songs.
After I saw the show I saw some pals, bought the vinyl, and chatted outside the venue. Low and behold Richard and his girlfriend, Megan, came out pushing their child in a stroller. Now, it should be noted that through my long love affair with margot & the nuclear so and so’s I have never. ever. ever. met Richard. Anyway, after some coaching I slipped down the alley and approached the couple.
Finally, after 6 years, I got to make conversation with Richard. I briefly thanked him for his music, he thanked me for coming. I told them I was walking down the alley to the train. Megan said I could walk with them. We chatted about the new album(I mentioned how it made sense to me and I thought it was a mature progression), moving to Chicago, and studying music business. I said goodbye when they got to their car.
I’m getting pretty close to having met almost all my favorite musicians. Next to tackle: Conor Oberst. For now though, I’m satisfied.
